Conversations began with Allen Smith from Joe Anderson Financial Services on December 16th at approximately 4:19 P.M. With an e-mail (joeanderson@blumail.org) stating that we can assist you with a loan before Christmas. Details of the loan came in another email on December 17th received at 11:06 P.M. With their FSA number and address at the bottom of the e-mail (FSA 565200). Two e-mails followed on December 18th with an application form and loan particulars. ON December 18th Mr. Allen Smith stated that upon paying an insurance premium of $500 a non-collateralized loan for $185K can be arranged.

After several exchanges of e-mails the price of the insurance premium dropped from $500 to $100 with approval of his boss. I did check Joe Anderson Financial Services by looking up their registry on the FSA (Financial Services Agency) website.

A newly drafted loan agreement was sent on December 21st to reflect the change in insurance premium. The agreement was signed by both parties. Mr. Smith stated in an e-mail which arrived shortly after the agreement that there were problems with receiving funds in the UK and that the insurance premium should be sent via Western Union to Emmanuel Paul at Number 14 Cavo Avenue Edo State Nigeria. I wrote back expressing my reservations on December 21st about sending money to Nigeria and was worried that this was a scam. Mr. Allen Smith wrote in his reply on December 21st with reassurance stating that we had a signed agreement therefore the deal is legit. He gave his word that upon paying the insurance premium the loan will be sent within 24 hours.

Funds were sent on December 22nd and received on 6:22 P.M. On December 27th I inquired about the status of the wire transfer after receiving a payment transfer slip. As I was told by several banking institutions (HSBC senders bank and TD Receivers Bank) that the sender was the only person who could track the transfer I asked the sender Mr. Allen Smith to find out where the transfer was in the process. Mr. Allen Smith of Joe Anderson Financial Services stated that funds were being held until an International Tax Cost was paid. Upon receiving the e-mail I looked into an International Tax Cost associated with a wire transfer and could not find any information on such a cost.in fact the senders bank and receivers bank did not believe such a cost existed.

In a reply to Mr. Allen Smith, I stated that after investigating the International Tax Cost I found that no such cost existed. A reply from Mr. Smith showed a story changed as now it was the loans officer who was holding the funds because the insurance premium paid was too little and that the remaining $500 dollars would need to be paid before funds would be released. The thing is the insurance premium was never $600 dollars and a signed agreement between both parties stated that it was $100 dollars.

I informed Mr. Allen Smith that we had a signed agreement that needs to be honored and that no additional funds would be sent. As I know more and more fees would be requested of me and no loan would be forthcoming I cut ties with this Joe Anderson Financial Services. Do not be scammed by Joe Anderson Financial Services and the likes of Mr. Allen Smith!!
