I am totally disgusted with Suntrust. I have - well, had -four accounts with them for many years now. I have closed two accounts recently, due to their upcoming and looming personal checking fees that are coming down the pike. PS - If you don't know about their new fees, you live under a rock and should take immediate action to correct this! In any instance, to avoid their new fees, one of their bankers told me that the way around the fees is to apply for their credit card and just charge it up every month. And so I applied for their card, fully disclosing to the banker that my credit wasn't the best. Of course, she said "no problem." Well, it was a problem because I was declined. The banker called me to tell me that my beacon score was too low, which I know is a lie because I had a copy of my credit report from Equifax, and I have a discover card already. I then told her I would be closing my personal checking with Suntrust, because now, she has provided me with no viable options to avoid their stupid and expensive new monthly fees!!! I am going to a nearby credit union and can't wait to close my last account with them!
