Haircut nightmare!

My 15 yr. Old wanted his hair trimmed. He had Justin Beiber like bangs (took him months to grow) and in on chop the hairdresser cut them to the middle of his forehead making him look like Bobby Brady! He was devastated and has been crying, my fiancee and I were in shock when we saw him. He is in high school and this is not good for his self esteem. I feel so bad for him. But I can't fix this. Can't believe a so called professional would do this! The hair will grow back but still...
