Very expensive free trial

The marketing strategy on this site is intentionally very misleading.

It appears as a 14 day "free" trial of a slimming aid. All you have to do is pay $4.95 to cover the shipping costs.

However when you take up this "free" trial offer you are then automatically subscribed to a monthly $59.99 fee. They also add in subscriptions to other companies for about $5 - pound;10 a month.

You then find yourself having to call 3 different numbers (800-649-3588,866-279-6513,800-989—5907) to cancel this very expensive FREE trial offer - only to be told that your order has already shipped - even if you call to cancel directly after placing the order - ie: the penny drops pretty quickly that you have been scammed - but it's already too late to stop shipment.

It makes you wonder how good this product really is - if the company have to be so devious at trying to hook you into a subscription. Surely if it was any good then a genuine 'free' trial would successfully sell the product on its own merits.

Calls from outside the US are not toll-free (and you need to prefix with the dialling code - 001). Calling is the only way to cancel - no postal or email contact addresses are given on the web site and you have to cover the cost of returning the product.

I have been informed that UK orders should be returned to: Acaiburn, BTB, Mailflight Ltd, Unit 2B Viking Ind Est, Hudson Rd, Bedford, MK41 0QB.

Even although I realised that I had been duped into signing up for various expensive subscriptions and cancelled immediately I will still need to wait for the order to arrive to return it. I will then have to try and claim a refund, then keep a carefull watch on my card statement to see that Acaiburn do not continue to request payments.

I have been making inter-net purchases for years and thought I knew better - just goes to show you - BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!
