Super Cuts
Great Service, Snotty Manage

Beauty & Appearance

Ok, the reason I'm not giving this business a "terrible" rating is that this was not the first time I've visited them. Every experience I've had up until today was good. Receptionist was polite, the woman who cut my hair was friendly and did an excellent job. Today, I went in to this location at 3962 US Highway 98 north in Lakeland, FL, the receptionist said "hi" to me and started walking towards the back of the salon. I thought the other people who were waiting had called ahead and decided to wait. While I was waiting, no less than three other customers came in and were greeted totally differently that I was. The receptionist said "hi, Sir, how may I help you today?". I sat and waited for close to an hour when someone else came up to the counter and asked if everyone had registered. I thought to myself, why didn't they ask me this when I walked into the salon an hour ago? I got frustrated and left. I went to another barber that is closer to me on the East Side of Lakeland, got the same haircut for less money (I usually get a "number two fade") for less money and the barber there did an excellent job. I called them a few hours later and complained. The manager who called me back had a really snotty attitude. She asked me how long I have been going to Supercuts and I said, "just over a year". I thought she was going to do something to make this right since I had been going there for this long but instead, she started lecturing me about the registration procedure. Who the hell are these people, the hair Nazi's? I felt like I was in seventh grade again and the teacher was chewing me out because I forgot to do my homework! Ya know, like the whole thing was my fault! She asked me what she can do to make things right, and I said "how about a discount off my last haircut". I had originally asked for a free haircut when I called and complained, but I could tell by her bitchy attitude that that would be out of the question. She said she would be willing to give me a discount but she thought it was "preposterous". I told her not to do me any favors and that I went and got my haircut at a different barber who gave me the same haircut for less money, my hair looks great, and he's closer to where I live! I've worked in Field Service for well over 5 years, and the first thing they teach you are the two rules of customer service. The first rule is 1) the customer is always right and 2) when in doubt, refer to rule #1. Apparently, this manager studied this concept at a different school than I did! Needless to say, I will not be returning to that salon.
