I am writing because I was shocked to see these negative reviews. I have had the basic plan ($17-18/mo) for my 2 poodle mixes for 5 years. I chose the basic plan for emergencies, not routine vet visits. It caries a $100 deductible. As puppies, my dogs would eat things that cost upwards of $1000 each for emergency room visits or overnight stays at the vet. With, x-rays, treatment, meds, etc., I got the full amt. Back less the $100. I would get a call when they received my paper work and a call a week later to say the check was in the mail. Even when, one dog needed cataract surgery, I got $500 towards it. This insurance has paid for itself while giving me peace of mind. I highly recommend them.
