Boots and Barkely
Why food dye in pet treats?

Animals & Birds

Our neighbor recently offered us a bag of Boots and Barkley rawhide that her aging dog can no longer enjoy.

I noticed a warning on the bag, "not to feed to dogs on furniture or carpeting / as it may stain". I found that odd and looked at the ingredients. Shocked to read food Dyes Yellow #5 AND #6. WHY DOES A DOGS TREAT NEED FOOD DYE?

And this appalls me personally, as I myself, am severely allergic to all food dyes. I KNOW what type of reactions this dyes can cause. WHY would I want to buy this product? This is unacceptable. Isn't rawhide meant to be a natural type of treat?
