In September my ex boyfriend now and I contacted Lynn Tweedt-Rabinowe that owns Citrine Kennels about a litter of golden retrievers. We decided to go with this breeder and purchase a female pup. We got her on November 4. After receiving her, the pup seemed just fine. About a month after having her we noticed she walked funny but didn't think anything of it. She had a type of sway and sort of a limp. Now I have had her for 7 months and last month I took her to get spayed. My vet suggested I take hip X-rays because she felt something different when examining her. I agreed and the X-rays were taken. Come to find out that my now eight month old puppy has hip problems. Both her parents are registered. We purchased the dog for $1600.00! I contacted the breeder immediately and she struck back right away blaming my vet. Saying she is a stupid vet trying to take my money. She has also told me to shut up and other harsh words. I have all of it documented. I trust my vet completely and she would never try to take my money. Now it has been over a month and the breeder is still putting up a fight. She made me send all of my dogs X-rays and doctors notes to her vet clinic. After I sent them I called the vets office to see what the report was. They informed me that the doctor didn't even look at it and that Lynn had just came and grabbed the X-rays and left. Lynn stated in an email that she had another vet look at them and they said they look excellent and see no problems with her hips. Yet Lynn will not tell me who examined MY pupâ%uFFFD%uFFFDs X-rays and give me the report. I find that kind of suspicious when she will not tell me who actually looked at them. She now said that she just had them sent to a â%uFFFD%uFFFDcertified radiologistâ%uFFFD%uFFFD but again won't give me that name or his credentials. As a person looking to buy a reputable and registered dog I do not recommend buying puppies from her kennel at all. She is so difficult to work with and doesn't even care about her dogs. She keeps reminding me that they are just dogs and she doesn't understand why I do not want a replacement dog. And that is another thing, she is so willing to give me a replacement dog in a heartbeat but the refund of the money is completely out of the picture. The price of the dog and the refund are exactly the same price. Dogs are not cars and can't be traded in, in my opinion. I have grown and become attached to this dog. Just because she has medical issues I am not going to toss her to the side to get another dog. I am advising you to not buy a pup from her. Yes you may get a dog that is healthy from her however she is so difficult and rude to everyone. She shows no respect for myself, my ex boyfriend, and my vet. She has also put me down for getting my dog spayed at seven months. She said that is way too young for a pup to get spayed. Even though doctors recommend getting your dog spayed before their first cycle. I have so many emails from her stating one thing and then she says another thing. Again, please do not consider her when you are purchasing a puppy. She seems nice and friendly at first but that all changed real fast.
