I recieved a bill in the mail dated 10/8, for $102.00 which included a past due amount of $29.00. I'm not really sure how the past due was $29.00! First of all, they include a $7 voluntary fee each month but, it's included in your total due. So, the $29 that was past due is an accumulation of the $7 voluntary fees!
Well, the bill said "TOTAL Charges, including $29.00 and current charges due 11/5". They shut my water off on 10/23 saying it's for the past due amount. The kicker is that they said they put 2 disconnect notices on the door, which they didn't. Long story short, they charges almost $200 to reconnect the water even though the due date was 11/5. Of course I had to scrap up the money to pay it because, who can live without running water?
The shady part is that, the an honest representative told me there was an error in that the notices were not placed on the door or mailed out. She referred me to the supervisor who could waive the fees allowing me to pay the past due charges. The supervisor was irate with the customer service rep and refused to admit an error. Two days later, after I've paid the excessive fees, a beat up truck pulls out front and puts (2) disconnect notices on the door. (The ones the supervisor wouldn't admit never got delivered!).. Luckily my husband recorded the guy putting them on the door with his cell phone. If it was an error, admit it, waive the fees and let's move forward! Truly slimmy!
