Gary D Murphy responded to an ad for a puppy. He told me he lived in New Orleans but was going to be in New York for the weekend attending his daughter’s wedding. He wanted me to divulge my info for a “postal money order" for price plus expenses. He was arranging for his vet’s assistant to pick up the puppy. I was to cash the Money orders from the U s Postal service that came from Texas (Julio Estrada) and then send the balance to the Vet’s assistant (Ada Vincent 504-300-9285 in Va) so that she could arrange for airfare to pick up the puppy. I was to also send the pup care packages, health guarantee, receipts and itemized listing of expenditures & AKC registration to a Winfield Scott Freeman in New Orleans, LA.
When I received the Money Orders with the USPS express mail from Texas I tried 4 different banks in order to cash them and none of them would since I don’t have an account with them. There were 3 Money orders made from the US Postal Service for $980 each for a total of 2,940 for an $800 puppy. I make it a practice to never cash an unknown anything with my bank always theirs. Anyway I went to the Post office to find out how to get these cashed and found out that they were in fact counterfeit. After that I went to the local police station and filed a report with them. I also noted on Google.com under Gary D murphy’s phone number that the same thing happen to me within that blog so that hopefully others would see it and not get scammed as well as to encourage anybody else that had dealings to report those also. I also notified the AKC.org site so that they could too warn any of their members that they could be a target for this scammer. This scam so far has crossed four states, VA, LA, TX, NY so no telling how large it is. The email address is a Hotmail.com and the variety of names seems so far to end in scp.
The other scammer email is [email protected] and then they one they used for me was [email protected].
