When I had lunch at Hawleys Restaurant in Belchertown, Ma. I was grossed out. My companion and I sat at a table and upon going to the table I noticed that most of the seats of other tables had major tears in them, most of the ceiling tiles had major water marks, parts of the floor had duct tape on them and when I used the ladies room I noticed that the lighting in there was almost non-existent and there was duct tape on the bathroom floor as well. There was (at that time) no ceiling tiles in the ladies room.
I grew up in Belchertown and my family and I used to eat there all the time. I did notice some of these same issues years ago but I brushed it off until some members of my family no longer ate there.
I do have to say that their food tastes good and it isn't expensive. But I have to wonder that if this is the condition of the restaurant itself what is the real condition of the food they serve.
I would have never thought that the town would allow a place to stay open that is like that.
