I received in the mail an economic assistance program from "MRC" with an official VISA logo on it. This form stated that a $500.00 economic assistance has been approved for seniors, single parents, and those living on a fixed or minimal income. I qualify because of my disability, and restricted disability income. The form stated that I needed to pay $49.00 to activate the card, and that my pre-approval number is 905A911. I called the phone number provided (702) 782-4881 and left a message asking why I needed to pay for this? The same person from the answering machine left me a message the next day explaining it to me well enough that I believed it, and sent him the requested $49.00 on Sept 25. He cashed the check on Oct. 01. I deleted the message he left me, and waited for the stimulus card. It still hasn't arrived, and I have called him on several occasions, asking for an update, and that he call me back with some kind of information. He has not bothered to make contact with me at all. Sometimes my calls will ring 5 or6 times, and the answer machine will pick up, and other times it will ring only once and go to voicemail. A couple times it sounded like someone picked up the phone and hung it right back down. I only receive $675.00 a month, and can not afford these scams, and with my disability I can not handle the mind games. I have Cerebral Palsy, and require some assistance in my daily routines. Why pick on people like me?
