Please... SHARE this email to EVERY person that you know and tell them to BEWARE of flying Spirit Airlines. My family went on a 7 day cruise and ALL of our baggage was lost. We were told by the airlines to purchase the items that we needed and we would be compensated when we returned if we provided receipts. It cost over $3K to replace items for 6 people and this is the reply that we get after making 15 unreturned calls and 4 unreturned emails to Spiritair checking on the status of a claim that they demanded be filed within 14 days of the loss. We received our bags when we returned to New Orleans from the cruise. There were limited places to purchase items for 6 people ON A CRUISE SHIP AT SEA! Please BEWARE of Spiritairlines and their NO FRILLS FLYING--- you will wind up paying FAR more than you ever dreamed when they do not have your luggage! I will add that the nearest Spirit Airlines is 2.5 hours away from us and they have given us 7 days to collect all of the crap we had to buy and return it to them to sift through and decide what they will refund. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS after the HUGE inconvenience they caused our family on a 7 day vacation. DO NOT FLY SPIRIT AIRLINES!!! Please remember that on a vacation we needed not only swimwear, casual wear but clothes to eat dinner as well in the formal dining room. Undergarments, shoes, sandles... everything that one would need for a vacation and this is how they are treating us!

I am so sorry for the delayed delivery of your luggage.
Customers may immediately rent/purchase items, whenever baggage is delayed.
Spirit Airlines reserves the right to request that items purchased as a result of delayed bag, should be returned in order for compensation to be issued. Since we did return your bag to you, we respectfully request that you return the newly purchased items with the exception of toiletries and undergarments by February 2.
Once the items are received, and we have verified that they are the items listed on the claim form / receipts, your claim will be processed for payment. You are welcome to retain the items, however, no compensation will be issued.
