I hired Global Ocean Frieght to handle my relocation from San Francisco, to Edmonton AB, Canada. They seemed very nice and professional at first and quoted me a price of 1600$US for my move plus 13.33 per each additional Cubic Feet over the initial 120 Cubic Feet quoted. I measured and packed all my things myself and all my goods as measured by their third party carrier in SF "Isaac's Relocation" to be a total of 135CBF. We wrote a contract and they said that my belongings should show up in Edmonton about two weeks of pickup. This pickup was on Jan 13. I still don't have my personal belongings because they are holding it as leverage so that they can coerce me into paying an extra 690$US for and additional overage of 115CBF that seem to come out of nowhere!!!
The Following is the list of my complaints:
1. Poor handling of my account. I would get promised calls from Stephanie but she would never call back. Unless of course it was to ask for payment.
2. Delivery is taking too long (almost 3 months and they still haven't released my goods). They are holding my goods hostage unless I pay them extra money.
3. They invoiced me for an extra 690$ for additional volume from the initial Bill of Lading. This was based on 115extra cubic feet (CBF) times 6 dollars per CBF. Adee from G.O.F. Later stated that it was a mistake and the extra CBF was really 40CBF. We later find out that they were also charging another customer in Edmonton this extra 115 CBF.
4. I contested this because
a. I was knew only shipping only around 135CBF which was verified at time of pickup at San Francisco; by their 3rd party carrier Isaac's Relocation. At this time we filled out a Bill of Lading and a signed contract.
B. I had with me a written contract between G.O.F. And myself that stated the Bill of Lading I wrote up with them was the final agreement.
Here is an excerpt from the agreement: "3. Final agreement, severability of clauses 1. Any bookings, freight engagements, dock receipts, boat notes, interchanges or other agreements relating to shipment previously are superceded by THIS Bill of Lading, which constitutes as the FINAL AGREEMENT"
5. I have caught them misleading me. They would say one thing but another thing would occur.
6. I've brought the issue of having a contractual agreement with them numerous times but they always disregard the contract and keep insisting that the final bill of lading is the correct one.
7. I requested to speak to someone in charge but Adee kept saying that their boss is "busy and in a meeting.
8. Their 3rd party carrier is threatening to auction my things if I don't pay and pick them up within 60 days.
