Barnes & Noble has been building a new store onto my local mall. According to a clerk at another book store in the mall, all the other book stores in the mall have to close because the deal Barnes & Noble made with the mall is for them to be the ONLY book store in the mall! She also stated that she had worked at another mall (somewhere in the midwest, I think) where B&N had come in, and they'd done the same thing there.
When I went to the mall customer service desk & asked for a complaint form because I didn't like the deal they'd made with B&N, they seemed to know what I was talking about—they didn't look at my quzzically and say, "what deal?"
I have mailed the complaint form to the local mall, as well as emailed the web site, notifying them that I intend to boycott the store. I've as yet had no response, but this was only last week.
I don't understand why this isn't a violation of anti-monopoly laws.
