On March 3 I purchased a year subscription to Blender Magazine which is a music magazine that I have read for a while now. I paid via debit card at that time and they removed the funds that night from my bank account.
Several weeks passed and when I didnt receive a magazine I contacted the company. They told me that I would receive one shortly. After a few more weeks and still no magazine I called again. They said the same thing. And again -I called a few weeks later. It wasnt until the third week in April that I was informed that Blender Magazine was ceasing publication. Ok, No big deal. I was frusterated that I hadnt been told before, then but figured that all would be okay. I was then informed that my subscription had been transferred to Maxxim, which is another magazine this company sells. It is not a music magazine. I did not agree to this. I told them that I did not want this, and asked to have my money refunded. I was told that it would take up to 10 business days. So be it. I was upset but all was settled.
After 2 weeks I still hadnt received my refund I contacted the company again. I was told "oops sorry" pretty much and told that it would take another 10 days. I was very frusterated now, but accepted what I was told.
After almost of a month of waiting I started contacting this company every day to every other day. I was passed from supervisor to employee told by each and everyone that each one would "find out why I havent received the refund, and get back to me." They each took my number and I never received a call.
It is now August 13 and I still havnt received my refund. I have called this company a total of 63 times trying to get my money back. It has taken countess minuteds of my own personal free time, which I have very little of. I have tried being mean, I have tried being nice, I have even treatened them with a lawsuit and I still get no response. No one can tell me why I cannot get my refund, or even when to expect my refund. Only I dont know, but I'm sorry and I'll take your number and get back to you. No one ever calls back.
This is unacceptable. These funds cleared my bank on March 3. If I had their money would they wait this long to get it. I think not. I have spoken to my bank as well as Merchant Card Services. They informed that they have a dispute policy for circumstances such as this but I would have had to dispute this debit within 60 days of the transaction. I waited to long. I trusted what was told to me by Blender Magazine, or National Publishing, and by doing so I lost any chance I had to recover my funds using my bank and its fraud services. I called them today August 13, only to be told the same exact time. Im sorry-I dont know why - and I'll take your number an get back to you.
Im sick of this. This is ridiculous. I want my money back and I want it now! Now I want compensated for my 63 plus phone calls, my headache, my wasted time etc. Someone please help. I have bank statements showing that I paid and phone records proving the calls. Please anyone i'm at my wits end.
