We adopted a dog from Good Dog rescue at the beginning of March. She was supposed to be part German Shepard part Golden Retriever. She was very food aggressive and extremely skiddish.
About a month and a half ago she turned very aggressive and to spare you the horrible details ended up calling Good Dog Rescue (Mike) to return her. Our hearts were broken and we hated to give up on her but had no other choice because our other dogs and us would be placed in jeopardy.
Mike was not very sympathic and said everything to make us believe it was our fault even to the point of us abusing her. After a lengthy phone conversation and a few days later Mike had someone call us to make arrangements to foster her. We asked the person if they had other dogs/children the answer was yes and that person refused to pick her up after we told her how she had been.
This happened twice then Mike finally got the message. He got a very nice person to pick her up and supposedly to her to a kennel in Mass. Where she would be evaluated by a vet and have a temperment test done. Then she would go to a trainer who would work with her. He promised us he would keep us informed on how she was doing. That sounds great but because of experience with Mike I'm not so sure if we believe that is going to happen.
It's been a week today that she left, the tears still flow now and again and the thought of whether we have done the right thing by giving her back is always with us.
We have not heard a single word from anyone and our emails have been ignored. How can Good Dog Rescue treat people this way when they rely on all of us to adopt and foster these animals? What kind of business is this that can't appreciate human feelings yet then at the same time want our money!!!
