Entertainment.com - Entertainment Book - Entertainment Online - Eol. Entertainment.com - Saversguide.com Charged my credit card monthly without permission and without disclosure

Entertainment.com (Entertainment Book, Entertainment online, Eol. Entertainment.com, Saversguide.com, Entertainment Publishers LLC etc.) has a link to a new on-line service. When I clicked on it, I was directed to Saversguide.com and I signed up for 1 month for $4.95 There was no option for a yearly service nor any disclosure that this was a monthly fee or that I would be charged $4.95 per month until cancelled.

Entertainment.com publishes books with coupons for restaurants, hotels, attractions, shops etc.By city. The new on-line service limits the number of coupons you can use and they must be used in 2 weeks. This was not the problem I have with them.

Months later, I discovered that I was being charged $4.95 a month by www.eol. Entertainment.com. I called and was told that I could cancel but that there would be no refund because all of the information is on the eol. Entertainment.com website. BUT I did not sign up on this website... I signed up on saversguide.com
Eol. Entertainment.com never even emailed me that I was being subscribed to their monthly service nor sent me any emails encouraging me to use the service.

I spent almost 2 hours on the phone trying to either get a credit for the months I paid for so that I could use the service or to get a refund for the months I didn't use and didn't know that I had. I was not asking for a full refund... Just wanted what I paid for unknowingly!

They have changed things since I signed up and now link to eol. Entertainment.com directly from entertainment.com The page it directs you to gives you a choice of a yearly fee or $4.95/month. There is no disclosure that this $4.95 is charged monthly until cancelled. This is wrong. However, once you sign up and log in, they have added an 'ly' to the word month which gives some indication, but it still does not disclose that it is until you cancel. Now, why would I cancel something that I bought for 1 month and used? I had no complaint about the service during that month. I wasn't trying to get my money back.

Frustrated that none of the 3 employees or their supervisors was able to correct this minor matter... I was willing to let them apply the money toward their yearly subscription, but they refused. They did let me cancel and gave me the last month as a money back guarantee, but I'm out the other monthly charges. I would have used the service had I known that I had it! But paying for something that there was no disclosure for that I was being signed up for is a rip-off.

Most disappoint that no one at Entertainment.com or any of the names they go under was interested in corrected their website to disclose the monthly fee... All it would have required was to change from $4.95/month to $4.95 monthly charge until cancelled. No big deal. But, with Entertainment.com, the message was clearly that the 'customer is wrong' and they are right.
