Early termination fee

For Christmas 2010 I received a Samsung Continum phone and was added onto another persons cell phone plan. I went in person to the Verizon store in the Eastride mall on February 7 to discontinue my service for my personal cell phone number. I was informed that I would have to pay an early termination fee. Verizon on May 3rd 2010 authorized an unauthorized person to renew my contract. I explained to Paul and showed Paul paper work from the hospital showing that on May 3rd I was in the hospital and did not sign a new contract. I explained to Paul and showed Paul the red flip phone I had and that on May 3rd I did send a person to Verizon only to have the red flip phone replaced just like it had previously been replaced because it broke in the past. Verizon pushed the signing of a new contract that was not expired until the end of May and never contacted me for approval of the new contract. Paul did not want to look at my papers from the hospital showing the date of admit and discharge. Paul only wanted to show me the copy of the signed contract. I asked Paul if Verizon would only charge half of the early termination fee since they let an unauthorized person sign a new contract. The response was no. I feel that Verizon needs to take some resonsibility but they have not responed to an email that I sent from the Verizon wireless website on February 11
