Hi-tech was hired to install a pump for $732 at my home. At the original installation, I was forced to pay $106.00 to replace the tubing which is an integral part of the pump.in addition, the electrical cord did not reach the outlet, and they used a extension cord which was dangerous and against code. After trying to settle with Hi-Tech I filed a complaint with BBB. Hi-Tech responded and wanted to settle the matter outside the "eyes" of BBB. I agreed to this and they replaced the cord with a longer one which barely reaches the outlet and is pulled tight. According to another electrician, either the cord should be longer or the outlet should be closer. Hi-Tech refused to do either and refused to send a supervisor to see the job. The installer had agreed with me that the installation was not correct, yet despite the fact that the company is located near my home, they refused to send a supervisor to see the problem and discuss it with me. I have hired an electrician at a cost of $175.00 to remedy the poor installation. It has cost me an additional $281.00 for a job that originally cost $732.00 an increase of almost 40%.
This company has been very difficult in my attempts to deall with them. They took days to answer calls, refused to send a supervisor to properly assess the problem and overcharged me for the work done. And worst of all, have left me unsatisfied with the responsibility of properly completing the job on my own. As I told them, I will not sue for the excess costs to complete the job because I do not ever again wish to meet or talk to them. I told them that I would complete the filing of my complaint with the BBB in the hope that others will not work with a company that does not fulfill its committments or honor its pledge to satisfy its customers.
