I had been going to Meidl Honda in Saskatoon for about four years now to get maintenance on my 2008 Honda Civic it was a leased vehicle. I asked a salesman Barry Ferner about getting a new 2012 Honda Civic. The main and most important question I asked him was could I at the four year point of a five year lease get a new honda Civic with no penalty or extra cost to me. He said yes I could do that.in fact he said if I brought my 2008 Honda back at the four year point of the five year lease., because I was already a valued Honda customer it would only cost me the first months lease payment around 250.00 for the new 2012 Honda Civic. So I trusted that Barry Ferner was telling me the truth and turned in my 2008 Honda Civic and got a new 2012 Honda Civic, that was on March 23/12. I was totally schocked when in April;I received an invoice for around 3600.00. So I immediately contacted Honda Canada to find out what the invoice was about. They told me that 628.00 which included tax was for Wear and Tear on the 2008 Honda, the balance remaining was for end of lease charges. I then contacted Barry Ferner at Meidl Honda explaining what had happened. He told me not to worry about it Meidl Honda would take care of the end of lease charges. He thought that maybe the cheque from Meidl Honda had not arrived yet at Honda Canada in Ontario.By the end of April I thought it would be prudent to contact Honda Canada again to see if Meidl Honda had taken care of the end of lease charges that they said they would. But they had not.in fact Honda Canada was holding me responsible. Each time I called Medil Honda after that they said they would take care of it. Finally on May 22/12 I drove into Sakatoon and went to Meidl Honda. I again spoke to Barry Ferner. Now he started to lie to my face, saying that he did'nt know at all that the2008 Honda was at the four year part of the five year lease. When it had been in fact the main and most important question that I had asked Barry Ferner in the beginning. Why would I incur on myself a 3000.00 cost-who would, noone would. Barry Ferner and Meidl Honda should have kept their word, they did not I want Barry Ferner and Meidl Honda to pay the end of lease charges like they said they would instead of stalling and lieing about the whole thing. I doubt after this whole fiasco on Meidl Honda's part that I could in good conscience ever be a customer of theirs again..
