Sometime in Nov. 2011 I received a call on my cell phone from a company called Readers Service also called Great American Readers offering me deals an entries into contests. The solicitor offered me a chance to win some prizes if I subscribe to a magazine order at a low cost. I agreed, with the exception that he sends me some information in the mail so I can choose the magazines. I never received any paperwork only magazine after magazine that I had no interest in.
Unfortunately and foolishly I gave him my debit account number that links to my bank account. I noticed that my account was debited $33.73 the last 4 months. I called Readers Service to please cancel my order at once but they refused. (Each time I called the Reader Service the person answered with a different company name.) After they refused to cancel they told me if I were to cancel the debit card and or payment was not made to them they would report me to a Collection Agency. I called again and again an all they say is they are keeping my account open like it or not and have a nice day and hang up on me.
I would appreciate any help or advise you can give me.
Thank you.
