I was hired as an assistant on a series of video shoots for the W Hotels Fashion week. It was 5 days of shooting in the end of August and the first week of September. Although there was no written contract and since i landed this gig through word of mouth i thought nothing would go wrong. I was told i'd be getting paid as early as a week to two max by Martin at the end of the Sept. 2nd shoot since he doesn't like his crew to "keep waiting" to get paid. He gave me his email so I could forward him the invoice. Several unanswered phone calls, emails and text messages and two months passed still no word. I then contacted the W Hotels corporate office and got his contractors number. He in turn promised me over the phone he would speak to Martin and have me paid. Few days later, Martin calls and tells me he was going to take care of me but since I was using strongarm tactics he'd pay me only 250 and see me in court. Three weeks have passed and i am still waiting for the 250 check. He lied twice already about mailing the check i never received. I have the text messages to prove it. I want to take him to court but no ones giving me his address either.
