Several years ago I purchased a ProZone air purifier from Biotech Research. The unit was small and portable and cost me $225. It seemed to work (initially) but after about 200 hours of use, failed completely. I contacted the company several times and finally got a customer service representative to send me a response to a letter of complaint. I was advised that Biotech had discontinued selling ProZone air purifiers and was now promoting EdenPure air purifiers. The customer service representative stated that Biotech would "as a courtesy" make an EdenPure replacement air purifier available to me for a total charge of $49. I sent back my check and a copy of the CSR's letter that contained that courtesy offer.
That was 35 days ago and to date, my check has not cleared my bank, nor has Biotech sent the EdenPure air purifier, nor have they answered any of my inquiries about why this issue is not being attended to. The ProZone unit, since it was no longer being handled by Biotech, was not repairable and they told me to send it to the landfill, which I did.
I currently have an interest in purchasing a quartz infrared space heater and Biotech supplies those as well. But after reading the comments of a former employee and based on my past experience with a Biotech product, the air purifier, and their total disregard for the offered replacement of that defective product, I'm not inclined to get stung again by making the purchase of the quartz infrared heater.
Also, be aware, the current highly advertised Amish cabinet quartz infrared heaters as shown on TV, are produced in Canton Ohio. Is this coincidence or is this another division of Biotech? Buyer beware.
