Nov 10: I purchased "virtual money" to use within an online game (Anarchy Online). The purchase was for $10.00 for 100 million credits within the game. GoldICP uses PayPal and other sites for their payment options. I paid via PayPal. The website (www.gamebuynow.com) has many associated websites.
The website promises delivery of credits within the game in 8 min - 24 hours. The site has Live Chat for delivery setup and customer service. Delivery never happened. Live Chat with customer service reps was a long list of excuses and delays: "we need a few more hours, please come back", "our account has some problems, please come back", "I have left a message for the manager, he will give you a refund".
I issued a dispute and claim via PayPal for the non-delivery of goods. Because the goods are "virtual goods", PayPal would not rectify the situation. PayPal also would not note the scam on the merchant's account, leaving the seller open to continue to steal others money.
I have reported the website/scam to ic3. Gov. Thankfully, I am only out $10. Please do not let them steal any of your money.
I know that their are quality websites that provide the same services. This website is a scam!
