US Postal Service Workman's Comp
USPS, Federal Workman's Comp Workman's Comp, US Postal Service, USPS

In January my wife slipped a disc in her back while working a rural route for the US Postal Service in Leonard, TX. She stepped out of her right hand drive Jeep and slipped, twisting her back and causing sever damage to her Cervicle Vertebrae. She filed a report with her postmaster who advised her to use the FMLA resources in order to keep her job secure, while she would have to pay all medical expences. She then filed the claim through Workman's Comp. She was sent to a Workman's Comp doctor and approved for several sessions of physical therapy then denied Workman's Comp. The ruling was reversed, but she was denied salary benefits. She has been 25 weeks without an income and received only one check of compensation from the USPS. Her postmaster offers no assistance and no attorney will take a case against the federal system. We are in danger of losing our home, vehicles and lifestyle - all because she was injured on the job and the federal government refuses to account for this loss in salary.
