After doing a search, I came across USA Photo Nation offering the Canon DC50 camcorder for only $279.00. First impression was 'Yeah right!' But after viewing the product page, I was convinced that the NEW IN BOX - Fresh from Factory camcorder was as advertised. Of course their additional accessories were EXTREMELY overpriced, so I chose to purchase just the camera.
The day after the purchase, I received an email asking me to call Chris at ext. 238. When Chris was contacted, he explained that the camcorder I purchased was not the USA model. Rather it was a version of the DC50 with an all plastic casing (not metallic) and it did not come with battery, charger, software, manual, remote, etc that the standard USA model comes with. HOWEVER, for a bit over $600 he could upgrade me to the standard model. Needless to say, I tried to cancel the order.
After a little run around with Chris, HE finally HUNG UP THE PHONE! I did receive an email notification that the order had been cancelled. I'm not sure yet if I have received a FULL refund yet or not, but I better or there will be 'hell' to pay!
