When my wife and I signed up for Cell phone service from Einstein PCS in the downtown Wausau Einstein PCS near the 2510 restaurant, they showed her a map of covered regions. My wife explained that we were moving to a city 45 minutes from LaCrosse and that we needed service there. The map showed that region covered our soon to be home.
We signed up for free phones with 2 years of service, with a $500 cancellation fee. When we got here, we could barely get reception, and if we ventured one mile north from where we lived, we went into roaming mode, which, according to their map, shouldn't have been. Looking into it more, einsteins website shows that this area of wisconsin is NOT well covered at all. When we called and complained the sale's girl swears she never showed us this phony coverage area map.
She also had told us at the point of sale that if the service was bad where we moved to, we could get out of the contract, no fee. She subsequently denied this as well.
My wife spent a month of calling support. She was told that they would call her back, of course, never calling back. After a week of calling every hour for 8 hours of every day, we got out of the contract that we were tricked into.
To make a long story short, if you want good cell phone service in Wisconsin, look into AllTel, and stay away from Einstein
