I have been enrolled at Virginia College Online Division since January. When I first started I was enrolled in the Accounting Program and remained in that program for three semesters which was 9 months. I was stilling working a fulltime job so that the reason I choose an online school. I decide to change my major because the accounting program was not for me because I felt I need more one on one time for help with some of the assignments that I was not able to understand because I knew the instruction will not be able to physical be with me to help me understand how to do the work.
I made a decision to change my major to Human Resource Management. I spoke with my student advisor and my financial planner and stated what I want to do, I was told this will be ok I will lost some credits of the classes I took in the accounting but for the most part I was able to change my major to Human Resources Management. Again every semester your study advisor enrolled you in the classes you need to graduate.
I did everything I was told or advise to do while enrolled in the college. I made the President List and Dean List several times. I just finished classes on March 25 which would have been my last classes. I took the classes my student advisor had enrolled me in, I even call her to make sure that she had me enrolled in the number of classes I need to graduate because she had sent me an e-mail with a schedule of two classes but I remember the previous conversation that I need three classes.
I was celebrating with my family that I had finish my classes and was ready to graduate on August 15 even though I will have to travel to Birmingham Alabama I will be receiving my Associate Degree in Human Resource Management. I receive a call from my student advisor to say to me she had enrolled me in a class for the spring term. I said to her that it must be some kind of mistake the I am done with my classes and I have already order my cap and grown to graduate, she stated to me she had made a mistake and enrolled me in a class I did not need. I felt like someone had just stabbed me in the back.
She stated to me there is nothing she can do I will have to take the class to graduate. I call and I told my story to the Dean of Student he said he will look in to this and call me back. Well when he did call me back he stated the same thing there is nothing he can do.
I really cant believe this is happening to me. Virginia College Online Division is been very unfair to me even when I told the Dean that I will not be able to take another classes due to at this moment I am to stress out he said to me well it will just take you longer to graduate. They are acting like they are the one paying for my classes. There is no consideration on wasting my time, I plan to let everyone know my story I wasted two years with this college and I will not be able to receive the degree I have earned.
