Devry University
GI Bill fraud and Theft

I am an Air Force Veteran Honorably Discharged and I have been attending DeVry University since October. I am pursuing my MBA when I was told by Devry that I owed for a class as well as money to the VA. However upon further investigation I found that the class I took and passed I did not have to take since Devry had granted me a transfer from my Bachelors Degree which is also from Devry University. It took them 6 months to find the error and had I not fought it I would have paid back almost $3,000 in tuition and fees which I did not have to pay back. They also have proceeded to punish me since November until June by not Certifying me to the VA because I got a D+ in one class. This supposedly dropped my GPA to lower than a 3.0 however I passed the class and can graduate with the grade. Because of this fraud and scamming the VA has saved money and Devry does not have to work as hard for their money since they allow me to use Federal Loans which cost me more and put me in massive debt. They are in control over my Veteran Benefits instead of me. This is an outrage and should not be allowed to happen but it does everyday to hard working men and women in our country. For Profit schools are taking advantage of the system anyway they can in order to make a quick buck and not work as hard. GI Bill beneficiaries should not waste their money at Devry or its affiliates because they will find someway of taking advantage of you and stealing your hard earned money and time. VA will not fight back for you because this means they save money as well. The tuition as Devry is not worth the education not to mention the time you will spend trying to make sure they do not steal money out of your pocket for no reason. I have spent the last 8 months trying to fight this issue and they still quote that their rules are in accordance with VA. However the VA will back-pay veterans up to a full year of classes as long as the school certifies you. I have not gotten less than a B+ since November but the school said I had to wait 2 full semesters in order to get back in satisfactory standing despite great grades. They also find it funny to request audits on your account at the VA in order to hold up the process of paying you. They have a very bad habit of charging me for classes and fees when they made the mistake and when they do find out they made the error they simply pull funds from taxpayers and pay the bill instead of paying out of their own pocket. Fraud and theft are what this school is good at. Do not attend!
