My 20 y/o son Michael took my old car I'd transfered to him to Sears Automotive to replace a power steering belt. Suggested repairs were, power steering belt, thermostat, timing belt and water pump. He decided he could only afford to replace the power steering belt. After the service on his way home the car broke down. I knew by the phone call it had something to do with timing. The car has run everyday for over a year. Now it breaks down after Sears worked on it. The Sears Manager and Mechanic suggest again to replace the timing belt, water pump and thermostat. The new quote was over $700.00. Is Sears doing so bad that they have to manufacture increase in Sells. Many times have I had completes with mechanics work, and always they make sure my car will at least drive after paying for service. Sear manager does not want to admit that maybe while checking the timing belt and servicing the vehicle something went wrong. There was no problem with it before. Although old and warn, my vehicle ran everyday until being exposed to the Sears Mechanic. Now they want $700 more.
