Cost me at least $1000 and lots of time on a misdiagnosis

My check engine light came on in September (167,348 miles). AAMCO said it was my Catalytic converter and replaced it.

October (175,700 miles). Light came on again. AAMCO said it was the catalytic converter again. This time I had to buy the factory model. They gave me credit on the first cat but I had to pay the difference. The factory cat cost twice as much as the original one they installed.

January (181,192 miles). Light came on again. AAMCO replaced the cat again but in addition they told me this time that I needed both O2 sensors replaced. They replaced the cat for free but I had to pay for the O2 sensors.

January (181,570 miles). Light came on again. AAMCO replaced the cat again. This time they also had my computer re-flashed.

A month later the light came on again. This time I refused to let AAMCO work on it. The mechanic who worked on it cited poor weld work on the exhaust. I paid him to redo the welding and the light has been off for a year and a half now.

I believe AAMCO did poor work and charged me for repairs that were unnecessary.
