I had an electrical problem with my 99 f-150. I had it towed to waldorf ford in waldorf maryland. The service advisor, ross, called to tell me it would cost $1469 to fix it.
He said it needed the following-
new windshield as a leak in the winshield shorted out parts.
Why not reseal it I asked.
New battery and cables assembly-truck started strong but was not getting gas
new fuse box-this seemed legitimate
gem module-again this seemed legimate.
I had the truck towed to an independant dealer who is fixing the truck like it was his for at least a thousand dollars less.
I was told by my mechanic that this service advisor continually adds on items that are not needed or are unesesary.
I have dealt with waldorf ford before and was satisfied but with a differant advisor.
If I have a problem again and get ross, I will never go back again and will have the truck towed elsewhere.
By the way, ross wanted to charge me $100 for diagnostic services. I got it reduce to $50.
Obviously ross works on commission.
