Bell Ford, an auto dealership in Phoenix, AZ pulled a bait and switch on my husband. My husband decided he wanted a newer auto. Bell Ford had mailed out a sales campaign letter in the area and he responded. He went to Bell Ford to trade in his Ford Bronco. Our credit and income was good so he tried for an Explorer. They said it wouldn't be a problem. Bell Ford gave him a 2000 Explorer to drive off the lot while financing was being finalized. They called him a few days later to say that he could have the Explorer on lease or he could purchase a different vehicle. He ended up with a Ford F150 Pickup truck, nothing to sneeze at but not the car he wanted. Apparently the Explorer was only "on loan". I don't believe they ever had any intention of selling us the Explorer and that the ad campaign was designed to draw people in and then sell you what they want to sell you as opposed to what you came for. Anybody else been screwed?
