Back in May I contacted Deb Corrado about purchasing a ragdoll kitten from her. I sent her a deposit and two months later I drove to get my new kitten. I was hesitant to pick the kitten up at only 8 weeks, but figured Deb knew what she was doing by letting her go early. Deb encouraged me to meet her in Sidney in a parking lot for the sake of "convenience." I never did see her cattery. I took the kitten and she was a complete sweetheart. We named her Pippin and in no time we had fallen in love with her.
Upon bringing her home I noticed she had a couple of fleas. Not really a huge deal, we could deal with it. Then I took her to the vet and they told me she had a rather nasty case of ear mites. It annoyed me slightly that I'd paid $600 for a kitten that was crawling with parasites, but I didn't think it was worth complaining about.
A few months went by without incident. Pippin was spayed, and appeared to be the picture of good health. Until about mid-November.
I took her to the vet when I noticed she hadn't been moving or eating much for a few days. She just looked miserable. The vet gave her some fluids and she perked right up. But two weeks later the symptoms returned. We ran bloodwork and a test for the coronavirus. While we waited for the results, Pip's health continued to deteriorate. She lost a lot of weight and wouldn't play at all. I had to syringe feed her food and water to keep her going.
Then the vet called me and told me that based on the results of the test and her symptoms, she believed Pippin had FIP. I made the decision to put her to sleep after a few days of giving her Prednisone with no improvement. It was heartbreaking,
I sent Deb Corrado an email the day after, explaining the situation. For someone whose website claims to treat their babies like family, she sure didn't care enough to even respond to me. When I pretended to be an interested customer, she replied within a half an hour. That just made me so angry.
She only cares about money. She has nice cats, but is NOT a good breeder. She cuts corners, she breeds her cats well past their prime breeding age, and once she has your money, you don't exist anymore. It's ridiculous.
